Episode 1: Lisa's IVF Journey, Ectopic Pregnancy & The Reality of Motherhood

The very first episode of Storme Diaries had to be a special one. Lisa joins me for an honest conversation about motherhood, IVF, pregnancy loss, resilience and navigating some of life's most difficult moments whilst still showing up every day. It's emotional, inspiring and the kind of conversation I wish more women felt comfortable having openly.

When I first sat down to record Storme Diaries, I knew I wanted the conversations to be honest. The kind of conversations that usually happen over coffee, on a long walk, or in a voice note to your best friend when life feels a little heavy.

And honestly, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect first guest than Lisa.

In this episode, Lisa opens up about some of the hardest chapters of her life and motherhood journey. We talk about being made redundant whilst on maternity leave, her experience of ectopic pregnancy, navigating IVF, raising two little ones under two, and the reality of carrying the mental load that so many mums know all too well.

It's emotional, raw, inspiring and incredibly honest.

What I love most about this conversation is that it reminds us that behind every mum is a story we often don't see. The struggles, the setbacks, the resilience and the strength it takes to keep showing up, even on the days when everything feels overwhelming.

There were moments during this chat where I wanted to hug Lisa, moments where I wanted to cry for her, and moments where I found myself nodding along thinking, "Yep, I know exactly what you mean."

If you've ever experienced loss, fertility struggles, motherhood overwhelm, or simply wondered whether you're doing enough, I think this episode will stay with you.

Most importantly, I hope it reminds you that you're never as alone as you think you are.

"You never realise how strong you are until life gives you no other choice."

A Few Things I Took Away From This Conversation

✨ Every motherhood journey looks different No two stories are ever the same, and Lisa's journey is a reminder that there is no "normal" path to becoming a mum.

✨ You're stronger than you think Listening to everything Lisa has navigated made me realise just how much women quietly carry whilst still showing up for everyone around them.

✨ We need to talk about the hard stuff more The difficult conversations can feel uncomfortable, but they're often the ones that make other people feel seen.

✨ Motherhood changes you But it shouldn't mean losing yourself completely. This is something I know so many mums will relate to.

✨ There is so much comfort in shared experiences Sometimes hearing someone else's story is enough to make you feel a little less alone.
