This week I'm joined by my 20th guests, Frankie & Lily — my first ever friend duo — for a conversation about friendship, growing up, motherhood, mental health, relationships and everything in between.

Frankie & Lily have known each other since they were young, growing up as neighbours but coming from very different home lives. One grew up in a quiet household, while the other grew up in complete chaos — and as children, they would often find themselves wanting to experience each other's lives.

As they got older, life took them both down very different paths. They experienced their parents separating, became young mums, navigated complex family relationships and faced challenges that neither could have imagined when they were children.

Between them, they open up about growing up with a dad who struggled with heroin addiction, and living with ADHD, autism, borderline personality disorder, PND, depression and health anxiety.

We also talk about relationships, co-parenting, being in a same-sex relationship, therapy and the different ways we learn to cope with everything life throws at us.

During lockdown, the two of them decided to turn their friendship into something bigger and created a Facebook group called Girls Who Support Girls — a community built around women supporting, encouraging and lifting each other up.

Their friendship has been through so much, and throughout the episode you can see exactly why they've remained such an important part of each other's lives.

Sometimes the people who knew you when you were young are the same people who understand you best.

This is a conversation about friendship, childhood, motherhood, mental health, healing, relationships, resilience and the people who stay beside you through every version of yourself. 🤍

This week I'm joined by my 17th guests, Charley & Danielle — my first ever mum and daughter duo — for a conversation full of honesty, vulnerability, motherhood and some really interesting discussions. Danielle talks about growing up with a dad who was a detective, while Charley opens up about her dad's struggles with bipolar disorder and mental health, and how her grandparents stepped in and played such an important role in her childhood. After losing her grandad, Charley struggled with health anxiety and shares her experience of cognitive behavioural therapy and counselling. We also talk about how midwives and maternity care have changed over the years, seeing spirits, NICU experiences, breastfeeding, children's diets and preservatives and colourings, injections, and the reality of motherhood behind the picture-perfect version we see on social media. She completed a hairdressing course at school before becoming pregnant at just 17, and in many ways, Amber feels like she did life the other way around. Now her children are older, and their relationship has evolved into something incredibly special — they're not just her children, they're her best friends. 🤍 Amber opens up about being in a toxic relationship while her children were unhappy, and the moment she realised something had to change. She shares her journey into spirituality, including her experience with plant medicine, and how it became part of a much bigger journey of healing, growth and finding herself again.
